Luke Myers wins the 2026 Solar award

We are so proud to have Luke Myers, one of our Timbersports athletes, selected as this year’s athlete of the year.  

It has been a pleasure having Luke on the team and watching him grow over the last 3 years I’ve been coaching. He is always volunteering to help in any way we need him whether that is driving the team to meets, coordinating first aid training for the officers, setting up fundraisers, attending school meetings, organizing birling practices and more. Luke has been instrumental in helping us prepare to host Spring Meet. He is always wanting more for the team and this year as vice president he contributed more than I could have asked and it has helped us tremendously.

If all that weren’t enough, I wanted to highlight the positive energy he brings to the team. He is encouraging of all the new team members and is always trying to boost morale, including the addition of a new (and much louder) speaker at the field. He finds new and interesting ways to make us all laugh!

 All this to say we are super grateful for everything he has done this year for the team and we will miss him after graduation!
